Gong Xi Fa Cai

It is the year of the dog. It is the Chinese New year Time. Here in Singapore, it is full of wishes and oranges getting exchanged. The Oranges exchange is for exchange of one's luck with others. So for four days, literally there is not a single shop that is open, not a single food court that is open. Luckily for us, the Indian cuisine inside the campus is open. So no problemo for food..

January had been a taxing month. Lotsa assignments, presentations, disturbances and confusions. But Thank God the month is coming to an end. The exam schedule has come. I have got my exams in the second week of Feb. Hopefully I shud sail through. Corp Fin is something that needs to be worked upon.

Got some of my assignments still left. One such is the SCM assignment on Bombay Dubbawallahs. It is an amazing story indeed. These guys operate at 6 sigma level and they are not even high school educated. The processes they follow which include Collection of Dabba from respective households, Sort them according to their destinations, Transport them through Mumbai local, From the stations to the offices and handing them over to the respective customers. Imagine all these with no MBA involved, no High Tech Computer applications involved...wow...........It happens only in India.

Again an instance where it happens only in India.. Pathan takes a hattrick in the very first over of a match thereby making history.... But Akmal bounces back with a century... India close their day with 74-4. Where else can you see this ? Only in India. I put Aussies in India's shoes. I doubt Pak would have scored even 100 runs. First letting them to score a 245 and then holing out with the entire top order back in the pavilion. Aussies are a way way ahead of us. Sourav and Yuvraj are in the middle. Can this be Dada's match ? Can he play that one innings to silence all of his critics (including me) ?

Elsewhere in India, Vallinayakam is getting engaged. The guy may get married in June. Well I was planning to go to Essec, France for an exchange in that period. Not sure now. Let us wait and see.

I don't remember exactly where I saw it - maybe it was the BBC or it was on CNN, but they did a feature on these tiffin-wallahs of Mumbai about three years ago.

Amazing story. Just goes to prove that you MBA's are scamming the rest of the world! We probably would do better with you all to tell us how to manage things more efficiently! :) (LOL)
